  • My upcoming wizz-bang, cross-the-country trip started falling apart last night. I've been scrambling to save it.

The Dallas leg has now been cancelled.

I still get to play Seinfield and go to the Hamptons to "see the baby." and then on to see my sister in Columbus for her birthday.

My brother told me he had a new house. He didn't tell me it was in a different city! So, I'm flying into Denver while he's now in Colorado Springs. I can get down to Colorado Springs for his birthday, but I'm having a heck of a time getting out of the damn place.

--Hey, just had a thought. I'm disappearing to see if I can catch a flight from COS to Salt Lake City, where I already have a Denver-originating connecting flight to Portland.

Edit: That idea looks like a bust. The flights that go to SLC go through Denver.

So I says, why not just take a flight from Colorado Springs to Denver, where I already have a flight booked. How much can it be? United Express > $500

    • Worked. Not a very productive day. Slept. Read some economic papers. Went online and learned that two Apolyton mods are having a relationship and apparently call each other "Mother" and "Father". Continued browsing through the wonders of the internet.

      • Got up at 12:30 am, messed around and got food/etc until 2 am. Got to work, worked on slides/results/etc for meeting at 9:30. Didn't fix everything by 8:20, so went home, showered, and came to meeting at 9:30. Than I listened to others talk, and talked myself for 90ish minutes (well, I was questioned a lot/etc also).

Meeting is over with, going to eat with some of the collaboration meeting at 6 and than will go home and to sleep.

        Was a productive meeting.

        • Co.S. is only an hour south of denver. Very short drive. There are buses I think that will drive you also if you don't have a car. Or I could call my dad and ask him for a ride, but he might be a bit confused as to why I was asking him for a complete stranger to him

Mapquest says it's 90 minutes. So I've rented a car.

But to get back to Denver appropriately early for my 9:30 a.m. flight, I'll probably have to get up at 4 a.m.

This whole trip has just been bizarre. I just found out the conference I was stopping in Sacramento for has been pushed up a week. So there's no way I can make it now. This means more changes.

            • I woke up early and did some tiling on the shower. Then I walked to the beach and soaked up some sunshine.

                • It's 90 minutes if a) you do it during rush hour or b) you drive like a grandma. Took me 2 hours in rush hour going north (4:30-6:30), that's driving to Aurora (east side of denver, suburb, sort of south of the airport), but only 1 hour driving south in the AM.

Not sure why you'd need 5 hours ahead for a flight... 9:30 flight, get into Denver at 8:30, leave at 7. You a girl or something, that you need 2.5 hours to get ready?

Zkrib, I still haven't started work. The sooner you get here the better pal.

                      • Late on the 29th. I can't make it sooner.

BTW: I blew off waiting for the shuttle and have rented a little car. I'm guessing I'll get to the Lighthouse Inn at around 6:30 or 7:00 p.m.

                        • What did I do today?

Lots of quotes for upcoming projects, mix design generations, specification reviews, pre-planning upcoming placements, ect.

Oh and had a blast with rah's generated thread about Gripes

I am not sure if this will be anymore than "get it off your chest" or any good will come of it, but was enjoyable to post and read others posts about what irks variousmembers.

Rub some Aloe Vera on the burn area, that will greatly help maam!
