I've got my GF trained to only schedule experiments on three days a week, at least ... and never on Fridays, usually. I managed that by offering to come eat dinner with her on T/W/Thu if she does experiments those days only...
That way when she inevitably works until 5am Fri morning, at least she's well rested by Saturday, and if she has to work Saturday for a timepoint she's fully aware Sunday

Fortunately I've yet to start doing timepoints and survival curves. I'm also the odd students who prefers to work early mornings than late nights.
