P.S. Eye brows keep sweat from running into the eye, the scalp hair helps to regular the temperature of the brain as it can both cool and warm the head. I did some reporting on a Cambodian Buddhist monastery here in the States, and in the summer they would occasionally get some interest from lay citizens who wanted to try out the lifestyle of prayer and meditation that their monks observed.
One boy was an American youth of 14 and he shaved his head and his eyebrows and took up the saffron robes. He went through the two-week training program, and then he returned to the secular world again. He thought about returning to do more study but could not commit to becoming ordained just yet. The monks were fine with that.
