With alcohol, we have the breathalizer test. With pot, we don't. That strikes me as a problem, because we don't want stoned people driving, but I don't want to arrest people b/c they smoked pot last week.

    A valid concern.

      • I never understood if someone was driving badly why it was important to figure out the actual reason. I someone speeds give them a speeding ticket. If someis weaving give them a ticket for weaving.

I don't really care if people drive "stoned" if they are safe and I don't care if people are straight if they drive like sh1t.

No. I could care less if you put me on ignore. There are only a few people that have decent opinions on this site anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

over here there's no limit as such, but it's an offence to be unfit to drive due to drugs.

although there isn't a breathalyzer style test, officers could simply do impairment tests (asking someone to walk in a straight line etc.) if they suspect that someone has been using drugs whilst behind the wheel.

            • Also, only a couple people actually ignore me, and one of those only does on occasion. A lot of people claim that they are going to ingnore me after they have been pwned though. I guess this is one of those cases.

Probably you are stoned and have no idea who the actual idiot is. Doesn't bother me what pot heads think.

                      In the Canadian situation:

We have two actual offences relating to drinking and driving.

                      1) Impaired - proven through evidence of impairment (weaving, running over pedestrians, etc). This can be charged and proven regardless of the actual blood/alcohol content. Note: Driving under influence of drugs can fit here.

                      2) "Over 80" - when a blood test indicates blood/alcohol content in excess of .08 (even if no "impairment" was observed). This one there is no THC equivalant for.

                      edit - fix the ".08"

Try providing some facts or evidence next time. That would make your argument much more rational.
