Confusing the Shia militias and AQI, which is what he definitely did - see the Mosul sentence, is pretty serious in my book.

Maybe, but you have no credibility on political issues. You're smart but also a complete tool, consistently. It's rather frustrating.

I like to think that I'm not fundamentally ignorant about my signature interest.

So you have never made a mistake when talking about your signature interests off the cuff? You have never made a mistake when talking about your signature interests at all?

Man, your college profs must have LOVED you.

                          Again, speak of the devil.

I am a partisan Dem and I don't pretend otherwise, but there are reasons why I'm a partisan. For example, the other guys like to conflate everything with AQ, and like to push confrontation with Iran. Hence, this thread.

I'm still not sure what these ad hominems have to do with this thread. I think I spelled out my argument pretty clearly here, so political bias should be irrelevant. You could ignore what I've written simply because I wrote it, but I think that says a lot more about you than me.

The dark-skinned one was Bridget, who's adopted. The one in the pic is Meghan, the 23-year-old. She has her own blog, I think.

Being partisan doesn't mean you have to make all of your posts positively reek of spin.

Your argument only seems important to people already sympathetic to your POV. To me (a non-partisan independent), it sounds silly and pointless. A gaffe like this just doesn't seem to materially impact his ability to do the job, and that he acknowledged the mistake when corrected is only to McCain's credit, IMO.

I don't expect politicians to be wonks, even on their strong issues. I expect politicians to be competent and to have lots of advisors.

Ramo, if you're a Dem, why do you sport an anarchist flag?
