That report was a white wash written by the Bush Administration in order to place the blame on the CIA instead of any where near Bush. The fact that bush supporters can't escape is that the CIA rated all of Bush's supposed "evidence", from the Niger Uranium Yellow cake to the one guy requesting political asylum who spun tails of mobile WMB factories, the CIA rated these claims as "Not Creditable". The Bush Administration ordered the CIA to change them to creditable and then lied to the American people claiming the evidence was "bullet proof" and "absolute".

After the invasion the Bushies then blamed the CIA when the CIA had it right all along and it was Bush who ordered them to change the classification. It's clear there was political tampering by the Bushies in order to trump up support for their lies.

My point, dear Wiggy, is that the analyists all classified it as nonCreditable then the Bushies (I.E. political appointees) ordered it to be reclassified as creditable. The over ruled the CIA and forced them to become part of the administration's lies. The problem wasn't the CIA but the administration and it's political appointees.

Originally a Clinton appointee then reappointed by Bush. I'd say he's just another political appointee willing to do what it takes to please his bosses and keep his job. Afterwards he made a convenient scapegoat though he clearly yielded to political pressure and so was unworthy of the job to begin with.

There was all sorts of articles on this back when it was a hot topic a few years ago. I totally remember reading about how the evidence for the Niger yellow cake and the mobile weapons labs were both rated non creditable by the CIA but that the administration political appointees ordered the classifications be changed to creditable. The Niger uranium claim was proven false just days after Bush made the claim in the state of the Union address in 2003 while the mobile weapons lab claim was based entirely on the claims of one guy who was trying to get asylum in the US.

The CIA thought both of them were junk but the administration picked them up and tried to turn them into a casus belli.

Simply repeating what you remember is not going to cut the mustard. You may as well say you remember Bush was once seen on TV with horns, tail and trident and that he kidnapped the Lindbergh baby, for all the weight it has.
