If I were organising anything for 200 people I would expect more than $1000 compensation but I don't work in the food industry.

It is possible that what Tiamat charged is a good amount, it depends on what she is making. If she can make each item for a quarter, she is making $500.00, so that's not bad at all really.

I would start a menu of food options as soon as possible and decide how much it is to make each item and how much your time is worth so that when the next job comes in you already know if you are charging a fair amount. Aside from getting all of your state certifications, that is probably the first thing I would do.

The client will always have a say in what they want served at their event, the menu is just to start them on ideas and to help with estimating the price. Once you have a list of things you can make and their price, you can branch out from there.

Sorry I had to work the last few days. I thought of something that might actually work. Design the website with stories and pictures about my family and their receipes etc... but the name well I thought of using something my husband calls me frequently which is Moonbeam. His contention is that some days the elevator just doesn't quite go to the top floor in my world so he checks in with me "how you doing there Moonbeam". That takes bugs out of the equation. So what about that name?

Moobeams Treats, Moobeams Goodies....and such.
