  • btw, I know Singapore appears a Monarchy and a Police State, but I hardly ever see police around, and I knew a guy who was a major trouble-maker, stabbed people at hawker centres, etc, but they never prisoned him, they just tried to talk and reason with him, sat next to him on the couch in his house and make sure he is alright.

I have never seen police abuse anyone, and I highly doubt they would or are even allowed to. Yet how many times have we heard US police abusing their power, corrupting the system?

I find the American version of freedom screwed up.

    • I find your interpretation of freedom screwed up.

In fact, I find you pretty screwed up even for a kiwi.

BTW, that picture is London, not Chicago.

        That makes me feel better.

        State-controlled media will do that.

I find the American version of freedom screwed up.
Seems more like your problem then. Frankly, all of this sounds rather personal.

The only picture I am aware of that is of London is the car one I posted a while ago, which I had stated, many many times now, that I made a mistake - but it is somewhat irrelevant, the point of that post was to show the difference between Chicago cars and Singapore cars, and that picture - despite it being in London - is still accurate enough to pass off as Chicago; Chicago has outdated dirty cars everywhere. And the funny thing is, I admitted to it, you can't even do that to your own mistakes, the picture you posted way above is not of Singapore.

Come to think of it, I have never seen you admit to your mistakes.

                • Boston has, between the big dig and renovations to the T, really improved in terms of infrastructure, I think. Well, the big dig has had some problems, but we're working on it...

                  • Well Darius, I guess America paved the way with modern construction, and we all know, whoever goes first has to fall first, the rest of the world learned from your countries mistakes.

I would love to see a brighter future for America, and that is why I posted this thread in the first place - to make a note to you American's that your country is not doing enough to improve its future. I was disappointed with what I saw in Chicago. I was hoping to step into 21st Century America, instead I stepped into 1980's America.

Part of the reason that a lot of cars in Chicago are dirty are because of the weather. The harsh winters are terrible on cars. It's not really far to compare this to a tropical island where the only people who own cars are rather wealthy. It's a rather underhanded tactic. With that and your misused photo, it's no wonder that no one trusts or respects your opinions.

Any place that emphasizes image over substance would attract him like a schoolgirl to a boyband.

Please, I come from Christchurch, you think I don't know how farmlands and cold weathers dirty the car? Excuses. Just too damn lazy to clean their own car, but its no big deal really.

I don't understand why a lot of you still pound on the mistake of my photo when I already admitted the mistake many times. Do you even realise I am aware of it? Truth is, I don't really care because the point of the post was to compare the cars of Chicago to Singapore. Do I really have to find an actual photo of Chicago's traffic, which can be almost identical to the one of London? You guy's are dodging the point and attack the mistake - kind of pointless tactic, kind of child-like actually.
