btw, I know Singapore appears a Monarchy and a Police State, but I hardly ever see police around, and I knew a guy who was a major trouble-maker, stabbed people at hawker centres, etc, but they never prisoned him, they just tried to talk and reason with him, sat next to him on the couch in his house and make sure he is alright.
I have never seen police abuse anyone, and I highly doubt they would or are even allowed to. Yet how many times have we heard US police abusing their power, corrupting the system?
I find the American version of freedom screwed up.
