Hera, well that minister (former Miss Finland) was also an underwear model . Besides, she actually has her own piece of law, called Lex Karpela, which was the first step in the future rogering fo the people by RIAA. She basically gave them tons of new rights, just because.
IT was such an open law that it actually could have been used to ban all devices that help crack protection, like for example... uhmmm Linux. That's how open wide it was and still is. And that the equivalent of RIAA has the right to get info on IPs from ISPs, I mean with a request. It would actually give them more power than cops on that issue. But that's what you get when former boobie models are targeted for thjese kinds of things, you know it'll work because there's absolutely NO brain involved. EFF? Kicked out, of course they're kicked out. Legal advices from all kinds of Uni people who actually know the law? Not interesting. RIAA? Well, can you please send me that e-mail again because I lost it and I bet it had tons of other good ideas we forgot... See you after my term is over, I'm looking forward working with you!

Pekka it's a beautiful day here but your thread just managed to piss me off
There is an actual attack against the rights of the people right now.
Another thing that is being done is to outlaw all orgs that are criminal and "against good manners". I **** you not, agaisnt good manners. So for example, if your org promotes what can be seen illegal, for example the legalization of marijuana, guess what? ILLEGAL!!
I mean what the **** is going on? Seriosly, the funny of this is long gone.
I see this org thing actually the MOST worrying.

You can't even criticize without the fear of being blocked, suspected or whatever, and you can't really form an org either because it would be illegal if it is against something.
I mean why do youw ant to form an org that is criminal? Are you a criminal? Pedophile? Nazi? You want to form a nazi gang, is that it? You want to browse the web for naked children?
Seriously.

Sorry Pekka, but all that would have to happen for this law to lose it's power is for people to stop obeying it. That's not going to happen though. So you are ****ed.

BTW I ‘m challenging you on Stalin kid. He had a position of power in the civil war, which was an integral part of the revolution. I also am adding the French revolution to the list.

Kid, I think you're overestimating Finns. Protesting doesn't belong to our culture. Biting your tongue is a virtue. So no, I don't see it going to a stage where everything is so impossible that there will be consequences from the street level.
It'll all just be a bit more dumb, bit more difficult and result into more idiocy, but that's about it.

Nope, I was just correcting your statement bout Stalin. And chalenging your claim that we shouldn't worry about what happens after a revolution.

Stalin still came to power within the system. The system got progressively more totalitarian after the revolution because people didn't stand up for whats right.
And I didn't say that you shouldn't worry about what comes after the revolution.

So now, FICORA has stepped up again. With the support of the minister, they are actually blocking websites that might contain child porn. We're living it right now, bad movies, books, dystopias, here it is. The minister actually says basically "so you love to watch little kids getting ****ed?" as an argument. Not kidding.
I've been following this censorship crap, and i think you're wrong about FICORA enforcing it. It's done by National Bureau of Investigation (KRP) together with ISP's.

Then, FICORA has suggested that companies similar to HBO, pay tv, that they have to release their customer database so they can match it with thier own. If you pay for some channels, and not ours, you'll be screwed. THat's nice, privacy issues? I guess there are none.
Also, i think it was suggested by some minister that YLE should get customer information from cable companies, not by Ficora. They would of course enforce those licenses to be paid if this would go through.
