More importantly, a.) the Obama campaign said that she mis-spoke (that she was referring to the political process), [Thats well and good, in regards to her all I said was her comment was stupid. Good for her for correcting hereself. Oh wait, it wasn't her was it...] b.) Michelle Obama isn't running for office, [As has already been mentioned, if a candidate decides to make his/her spouce a major part of their campaign then the spouces comments are directly linked to that campaign] and c.) if we're going to care about candidates' spouses, Cindy McCain pales in comparison to Michelle Obama in just about every respect (not just the skin color). [And you don't see Cindy making solo rally speaches every day either do you? Just because your spouse is a politicial doesn't mean you are. Michelle and Obama chose to make her a central figure of the campaign] Boshko hinted at one aspect of this...[Cindy is far hotter than Michelle by any measure].

Michelle Obama is making speeches on behalf of her husband because she's an accomplished, capable woman. She makes mistakes (and it's the campaign's job to clean them up) because she's not a professional politician.
McCain does not get the better end of this argument."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

I understand about FOX news perfectly. The title of the article is "Does Michele Obama Dislike America?"
Well, the fact that Michelle Obama has not clarified the situation is a major mistake for the Obama campaign.
Again, I don't believe Michelle Obama dislikes her country. I sincerely hope she does not, but this is a big deal. It is not going away. And the Obama campaign should understand that.
He feels that it would have been better for her and not the staffers to have been the one to issue the "clarification."I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

And why is that at the bottom of the article? Better, why doesn't he do the responsible thing and post the parts of the speach which make it clear that the part in question was taken out of context.
She doesn't need to clarify. Her words were taken out of context period. The people who tooks these words out of context are to blame. They are the ones who need to expalin, not her.I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

So, she said, "first time I'm really proud"? I think that's perfectly acceptable.
While I'm largely glad I'm American, there's precious little during my lifetime that I can be proud of that America, as a country has done. I'm proud of some things Americans have done, but the country itself?B♭3

I interpret her words a little differently.
She says, "for the first time in my adult life I am really proud of my country," which I interpret to mean, she's always been pround, but now she's very proud.
She goes on to explain that, now, the country is rallying together, rather than having each person or special interest group concerned with only its own small problem. A country, acting as one nation and not as a political and economic balkanization. Now, that's something to be really proud of.
