Kid, you realize what you are saying is exactly what you accuse Fox News fans of, right?

I can't get all that worked up about this. But yeah, I'd much rather she hadn't said it, because it will be useful fodder for the Republicans.

I'm not always proud of my country. I am proud of some things, and... not proud of others. This, of course, makes me a terrible traitor to some people. I'm not really sure why pride is such a good thing - I think this country suffers from excessive pride in itself. If the USA was a person (Brittney?), she would forever demand that the mirror on the wall tell her she's the most beautiful of them all...

Only a very few would say you have to be proud of your country in every detail, but if you live her and are not overall proud of it you would have to be a moron.

There are certainly things in this country that could be better, and a few that are outright wrong, but the very vast majority of circumstances are good, thus I am proud of my country.

There is a gulf of difference between thinking your country needs some changes and not being proud of it at all.

That, or their reliance on a failed political/economic philosophy a fifth grader can pick apart.

Pride in your country is useless.

Actually the economic system works much better in time of war. That had nothing to do with it.

Wow, someone is still defending this thread?

                      She didn't say "at all."

More importantly, a.) the Obama campaign said that she mis-spoke (that she was referring to the political process), b.) Michelle Obama isn't running for office, and c.) if we're going to care about candidates' spouses, Cindy McCain pales in comparison to Michelle Obama in just about every respect (not just the skin color). Boshko hinted at one aspect of this...

Well O'Rielly is still suggesting that she "dislikes America." That was 4 hours ago, after the clarification by Obama.

                                That story supports my position:

As I read it, Reagan threatened an arms race, which Gorby knew the USSR could not financially match. Then Reagon proposed nuclear arms cuts, which Gorby needed so he could institute his economic reforms. So deals were cut.

What the story fails to go on to say is that, despite the Soviet's reforms, the U.S.S.R.'s economy collapsed.

Reagan had bumpkis to do with it.
