If you do come to Zagreb let me know and the beer is on me. I can't give purpose to people's lives, but I will sign autographs, pictures and such, if it helps.

What do you mean should I get into charity? Join a Church or cult? Join the Communist party? Should I take up stalking? Please clarify a bit.

                Whatcha studying?

/me thinks about the SMAC quotes, delusions of grandeur and hard-on for the TechnoRapture and pins you down as a nutty compsci, maybe a errant biochemist. Outside shot of being a politics student gone wrong
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

Who knows some of the stuff he says makes sense.

...in this sense love is evil...
Think about the strangeness of today's situation. Thirty, forty years ago, we were still debating about what the future will be: communist, fascist, capitalist, whatever. Today, nobody even debates these issues. We all silently accept global capitalism is here to stay. On the other hand, we are obsessed with cosmic catastrophies: the whole life on earth disintegrating, because of some virus, because of an asteroid hitting the earth, and so on. So the paradox is, that it's much easier to imagine the end of all life on earth than a much more modest radical change in capitalism.
…with Lenin it was always a substantial commitment. I always have a certain admiration for people who are aware that somebody has to do the job. What I hate about these liberal, pseudo-left, beautiful soul academics is that they are doing what they are doing fully aware that somebody else will do the job for them.
Its also interesting to note that the first person you thought of for me to stalk is a philosopher.

Its amazing how often people confuse a eidetic memory and stalking. They always find something unsettling about such attention to detail.

                            Ah, a physicist. Noted.
