The History SubForum is dead. Its thread should be buried, or else resurrected in the glorious light of the OT

I'm ok with keeping it so long as it's understood that there is no pressure to post history related threads here instead of the main OT.

I've noticed a definite reduction in overall history related discussion since the division of the OT into a non history and history component.

The way the question was asked shows the asker's personal bias.

Uhmm, I have no bias here. I was for years one of the biggest supporters of creating a History forum and actively campaigned for it but by the time we finally got it I had a much busier life and have had very little time to contribute (I still lurk though). I'm saddened to see that I'm clearly not the only one, so while I have an emotional desire to keep the forum I see increasingly less rational arguments for it -- I could live with either decision, really (for full disclosure, I voted to keep it though).

How have the overall discussions developed on that time? I haven't been here nearly as long as most active posters, but i've understood that poly forums have been generally more active in the past ?

yes, they have, and quite alot. I haven't followed all of the different sections, but those I have, are all slower than in the past.
and there's alot more spamming and bad language too than in the past.

All these lame forums are stupid, they have fragmented the OTF and made it deader than it has been in the last ten years. Plus history is gay.

Well in any case your question does not match the critera for a good neutral survey question.

Anyone who thinks this forum is more active than locutus said is delusional.

This is why the admins shouldn't have fooked around with the OT to begin with. Having lost the Civ crowd to CFC they just had to exterminate the OT to finish the job. People like Heraclitus here who would have been here dealing with history as part of the OT forever now will walk when you put it back which you really need to do to help the OT.

Silly boogers just quit screwing everything up.

Oh! ...and rename the OT to Off Topic/Stories and Diplomacy or whatever it was before the division that wiped out the S&D crowd and weakened the OT that way. Then, close that mistake too. That way who knows? Maybe somebody will start a story someday.

It's pretty fascinating that the (unnecessarily large) administration cannot manage a civilization site or its forums with any degree of competency.

Please leave this forum. These threads need to stay out of the OTF, which is so busy I get disoriented. Plus this would eliminate the practicality of the awesome joke of replying "---> History Forum" whenever somebody posts a duplicate thread.

Also, I hate the people who post here so the more time they spend away from the OTF the better.
