      Why?

It doesn't even have a cool name like Bombay anymore.

Isn't it just slums and Dell employees?

Perhaps it's an attempt to teach him humility.

            Done my job well.

They're also talking about London for two weeks, also to train them to be less stupid.

I feel for you, it is hard to train people to be less stupid.

Especially people in London, which are inherently stupid for living in such a dreary place.

That's a 20-28 hour flight to India. It doesn't get much more enjoyable than that.

London is statistically more dreary. As is Vancouver.

It's kind of a wicked way to teach humility to send me to an area where I'm so much richer than everyone else.

That's how I handle business travel:
                                airport > hotel > client > restaurant > hotel > airport
                                Lather, rinse, repeat as necessary.

Seems like you should be able to figure out the online access issue upfront. Highly likely that a hotel catering to business travelers will have HSIA. And if you've got a hi-speed connection, most of your objections vanish.

My business travel experiences have generally been very good, especially when working with a specific office or person. It's in their best interest to make sure all your needs are met, since they want the home office to be happy with them.

As an intelligent, younger, unmarried person in corporate world, you have probably been identified as a candidate for plenty of travel. You need to either embrace this fact, or nip it in the bud. (Is there a % travel listed in your job description? If not, you may be able to negotiate a promotion/raise!)

BTW Asher, you broke the thread width...
