I'd be more inclined to change the program to add a year in a military jail plus repayment for all applicants that want out after recieving the benefits.

If they are doing it because of a "truely sincere" belief in the immorality of war, the penalties should be no problem for them Kid.

of course Dino, of course, soldiers never get shot at.

On a side note: if you are a conscience objector, don't join the army.

Ah yes, the famous charge of the 103 "MD" Battalion, who defeated an entire regiment of SS grenadiers with only their scalples.

It wasn't in Med School this supposed conversion occured. It was after graduation and when she was facing deployment.
In a related oddity, women soldiers tend to get pregnant just befor they deploy as well!

I did note that the article only said the Army had to discharge her, not that she didn't have to refund the Army for her education.

Is that odd to you. I bet men soldiers do quite a bit of impregnated before deployment.

Yeah, I find their momentary lack of competance in the use of contraceptives to be quite suspect.

In any case men sailors impregnating local strippers is not my problem until after deployment, nine months being longer to six, when my sailors are obligated to pay for their children and can't seem to understand why they can't raise a child AND own an escalade on $1600 a month

I'm not sure how CO status applies, as doctors tend to save lives rather than end them. If the military actually paid this woman through medical school and is now planning to have her patrol Baghdad, her religious objections are the least of their problems. However, I doubt they actually did that...she probably just doesn't want to serve and is trying to weasel out of it, like most everyone else in this thread says.

I saw MASH, Kid. Are you implying that our medics spend most of their time drinking, joking, and getting involved in really tepid shenanigans? Now that's a waste of tax money.

The clap doesn't make you miss deployment. Pregers does.

Yeah, so? They both have drunk sex before deployment and pay for it. You're being a bit sexist.
