Following the stupid "logic" behind prohibiting known gay men from donating, shouldn't we thus prohibit straight men of racial minority groups from donating blood?

Actually my stats earlier were flawed, as they assume that every donor is gay, whereas only 7% of the Canadian population is supposedly gay. So it's not 1250 years, it's more like 17000 years until dirty homo blood would give one person HIV. I applaud your cautiousness, Ben Kenobi, but I think we've established by now that any references to blood donation are completely moot, DinoDoc. It would probably only take a few decades for gay blood to give someone HIV in that case.

Actually a much lower amount of time would be required for that, Gibsie. You forgot to take into account the number of transfusions and donors goes up when we shift to blood away from organs. I also stopped carrying on with teh blood example once I found out that the policy Asher was getting all hysterical over didn't exist until Mr Fun brought it up again.

Well however long it'd take for blood (You're right, I probably should have divided it by more than 1000), doesn't change the fact organs are pretty damn safe for transplant, even if they are from gays.
