  • Who do you think will be the next President of the US?

Note this is not a poll of who you want, but who you think/fear will be President at the end, judging by this early stage so far...

Also post who you think the Presidency will be contested between.

Ron Paul included this time (in place of the banana).

No Dennis Kucinich? He's about as likely to win as Ron Paul...

Your obsession with our country is bordering on freakish, MOBIUS. I feel capable of saying this because I, too, have dealt with such unhealthy obsessions in the past. It's okay. We can help you.

          No, we can't.

I'm over the American election. The stupid thing is a year away yet, and the media is all over it.

What a fiasco the US electoral system is. Only those with embarrassing amounts of cash can hope to run. It takes nation wide canvassing just to determine the leader of the parties, and in the end your vote doesn't count cause they just do a Florida until desired result is achieved.

Wouldn't it be much more efficient and cheaper to just have an upfront dictatorship instead of one hidden behind heaps of cash?

I'm sorry, but this is the start of figuring out who will be the next person to be President of the US.

Some of these candidates include an evangelical creationist who has a real chance of getting into power - whoever is President of the US affects the whole rest of the World! Which after how Bush has ****ed things up on Iraq, Climate Change etc, etc, etc is frankly very scary indeed!

              Damned straight I'm interested!

One of the Republicans. I'm not sure which, nor do I overly care, but at the moment my money is on Giuliani.

In my wildest dreams, the race would be Richardson vs. Paul, and Paul takes it.

The least unpleasant but still realistic race for me would be Obama vs. McCain, with McCain winning it.

The "I'd think about moving to another country" race would be Clinton vs. Giuliani, and I'm not sure I'd care which one got sworn in.

The election is too far off for me to really care much yet. I've been paying some attention, but I can only stand so much of it, so I'm holding off until at least the CT dem primary rolls around (edit: February 5th, which of course is no longer far away). At that point, I'll do my best to make an informed choice between the Dems and hope for the best.

In terms of what I fear might happen... any of the Republicans winning, except maybe Guiliani (big maybe) or, oddly enough, McCain.
