  • The future of the Poly OT

Not much left of the rest of Poly, and the OT is surviving on a few diehard regulars. One must assume that one day they'll shut the lights off and Poly will be gone. Will they be thoughtful enough to give us warning? Who knows, they're not real big on discussing stuff with us. I suggest while we still have this base of communications that we agree to meet somewhere that's likely to be around for a while, like CFC. Not that we would end up there but at least we might be able to discuss a possible destination so that we can keep in touch. Otherwise if this place goes we're scattered without option.

What do you think? CFC? Somewhere else?

I think whining about the coming death of this forum may become a self-fulfilling prophesy. If You came to a forum that is full of "this place is doomed" threads, would You want to stay in it?

Bah! You haven't seen my face.

I'd suggest MZO Central, but that place is so dead, it makes this one seem like Times Square on New Year's Eve.

In case the internet should suddenly go down for good, everyone should leave their phone numbers and street address so that we don't loose track of each other.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

So the meeting place is at Tannhauser Gate? Do they serve good steaks there?

                          Very true.
