This guy did a whole liter, and he is 64. Dude!
I once drank around half a bottle of flavored poor quality vodka (around 25-30% vol) in large chugs and in a short timespan (around half an hour).

I felt really really bad afterwards and was seriously drunk, though I didn't throw up, and I think I managed to avoid a hangover.

New airport rules prohibit passengers from carrying larger quantities of liquid onto planes, and he was told at a security check he would have to either throw out the bottle of vodka or pay a fee to have his carry-on bag checked as cargo.
this is really the dumb reason for that.

a liquid in the cargo is no safer than a liquid on the passenger.

what next, will they force people to travel shoeless?

this is idiotic. there's a limit to how much you can check people

Well, you asked for it drinking horsepiss

This is not quite true. You can have two safe liquids that first get dangerous when mixed.

        yes.
you could also have a person that seems safe, but can strangle at least 3 people before he is overtaken.

banning liquids is a stupidly over-zealous step.

And I bet that one could have a list of all materials that are dangerous when mixed in a list, and if a person has both of them on his body, then you start asking questions.

You could invent a fancy non-traceable mechanism to unite two potentially explosive liquids while in the cargo, as well.

Then we'll see a ban on all liquids.

Ehrm, I didn't say that the liquid check wasn't stupid, just that your claim wasn't right.

Liquids bought in checked areas shouldn't be considered a potential danger.

            BlackCat is right, Siro.
I mostly agree with you about your conclusion (that security is a bit over-zealous) but your argument that liquids in the cargo are no safer is plain wrong.
