That, plus all the other mess when you enter illegally. What if something happens, you think insurance covers it? No.

You want to get into a car crash (someone elses fault) in the States without insurance? THat, plus you're there illegally. Not a good deal.
    In da butt.

The only illegal thing I would be doing would be crossing the border. Fact. And I wouldn't even think about doing that if I thought that anybody whatsoever would be in any way damaged or hurt because of that.

You're right about insurance and stuff like that. That would be a problem. But if one would think about problems all the time, when would one have time to think up crazy plans?

          but this sounds more interesting...

if you are serious however about going "normally" I am sure they will let you, as long as you have any kind of proof for a job/house... that is about it... have quite a few Croatian friends (with our papars only) going there on holiday... not a big deal to get a visa...

depends mostly how "secure" your job is viewed and if you have a place to live in... that is about it I would say...

on the other hand, this illegal border crossing sounds like an interesting trip

Crossing from Mexico into the US is no ususally a problem as long as you aren't Mexican. One time I was waved thru only once was I actually asked for ID. This is a few years ago though so I don't know if it is still the same.
