Anyone in the mood to help build a house ala the Poly House?

My boss, a truly wonderful lady, at the casino already bought these people a piece of property ($700) and contributed $500 towards a house. I figure a decent house will cose $2000 to $2500 these days. If I go $500 that leaves $1000 to $1500.

There are three in the family, the woman, Maravic, is our housekeeper, the husband, Rodrigo, is working on our seawall and ought to make maybe $100 towards the house, and Irish is the daughter, very cute little 4 year old girl.

They currently live in an abandoned shack in the nearby community of Mabini when they aren't here working.

When we're not here Rodrigo sheperds some cows of Clemente, my father in law, and Maravic comes to dust our unoccupied house every 2 weeks. It doesn't really need it unless we're coming back but its a little dependable income for them.

The Poly House cost a couple thousand and we supported the Mills family and sent Karen to school, but there were alot more people posting here then it seems to me.

So, what do you think? I'll make it a poll, what the heck.

AAHZ, if we do this just send what you can comfortably afford. The idea is to spread the weight so that we get the job done and nobody gets a hernia. The most anyone sent for the Poly house was Zkribbler @ $600 iirc. Most people that contributed sent $20 or $50. In the end the place was built and some very poor people have had a good place to live ever since.
