So you see this as a case of regular child abuse that got out-of-hand, and nothing really to do with Islam - rather than another manifestation of certain muslims deciding that dealing out death or strong violence is the answer to the problem of a person that has offended their sensibilities.

Threadjacks usually start as normal topic drift. The problem is you're arrogant enough to assume the topic and all people discussing it want to move with you. The fact that an alarming number of threads you post in tend to "drift" towards Judaism at some inexplicable point also has a role in just calling it a threadjack.

If you want to see how to deal with people discussing other topics (I don't see what was so bad with LOTM's statement either), look at DanS in the Huckabee thread... ignoring the jack and focusing on the original topic.

A discussion of forced marriage seems like it would belong here as well since so many honor killings have to do with girls resisting forced marriages to foreign men they've never met and who are decades older. There is the claim that these girls are disobedient (and so bringing dishonor to the family) if they refuse the forced marriage while if they run away after the forced marriage (as many do) then they're trying to divorce their husbands and so are bring dishonor on the family. Talk about a raw deal especially since many of these forced marriages are just so the parents can make money by selling their teen daughter (who happens to have EU or US citizenship) to the highest bidder who wants a free ticket to the west.
Asher is laying the ground rules to prevent further threadjacks for people who aren't as learned regarding what the purpose of threads is.
