What is the value of XYZ stock? You may think it's $5 a share, but the actual OBJECTIVE value is $6 a share. Hell, it may trade at $5 a share if enough people are ignorant of it's objective value. But the trade value of the stock will most definitely go up towards it's real value. You can think something is a certain value all you want. It doesn't make it so. In the end you get burned.

If you know a stock's objective value, but nobody else does, is that value really it's value? :zen:

Does $100 have an objective value if everybody else foolishly believes that it's only worth $1?

Yes absolutely it does. If everyone believes it's only worth $1 then they will trade it as if it were. Then there would become a shortage. Their ignorance will then be corrected and the will realise the true value.

The value a labor has more to do with the context, than the job itself.
Kid, let me ask you this. How much is it worth to assemble toys in america? Lets say X$. Now how much is it worth to assemble toys in France? Lets say Y$
If X>Y, its probably because life is more expensive in America than in France, or vice versa.
Labor in Las Vegas for example, is cheap compared to N.Y., for the exact same job.
So the value of labor can not be only calculated by the job done itself, but by the location more so.
A plumber earns 60k$ a year in neveda, but if he wanted too he could earn 80K$ a year if he was to move to Michigan. Would he make more money? No, housing is more expensive in Michigan. (Maybe not, but its an example)

There's a couple forces a work, but I'm not arguing with you.
One reason that living expenses are high in certain places is because more jobs are available there.
