    • "don't use dirty tricks to get more voters by lying about your opponents, and you wont face the court."

The courts decide which election propaganda is "lying about ones opponents". Hmm, that couldnt be abused, now could it?

You mean like how he goes on and on about the governor who said he wasnt pressured? See, if a western source quotes someone who says theres fraud, then the western source is part of the eevil neocon-Teutonic Knights- false Dmitry- conspiracy against Holy Russia, but if they quote someone (credible or not) who says there wasnt fraud, then this is evidence there wasnt fraud, but not that the western sources just might be presenting balanced views.

        Very good points, indeed.

You know, if you'd realize that there is not a single thing wrt to politics (foreign, domestic, or even local ffs -- you're exactly the sort of establishment liberal whose support for politically correct BS ****ed up NYC big time circa 1960-1990, then fled to Virginia and left poor people to deal with the **** they were in) since approximately 1968 which you've understood correctly, even you wouldn't take yourself seriously.

I presume you are still basing all your "everybody knows this is true" -presumptions on things you've read from newspapers without source criticism. Obviously there has been MASSIVE FRAUD altough nobody can really provide any evidence on how fraud has happened and nobody in these forums living in Russia has reported even any hints towards election fraud.

If you had been actually been following the functionality of Russian democracy from the 1990s onwards based on facts unstripped from spin (hint: op-eds and "some say there has been some sort of harassment of the opposition" type of weasel words are not facts), you would realize that Putin has strengthened Russian democracy, which plays a big part on why he's so popular atm.

              • New Russian President (and prime minister) has been selected

MOSCOW, Dec. 10 — President Vladimir V. Putin on Monday endorsed as his successor Dmitri A. Medvedev, a protégé with no background in the state security services and virtually no power base in the Kremlin.

Not really, it's essentially one party with two factions. They are two sides of the same coin.
The only real difference between the two is the rhetoric spewed around election time.
"'Let there be light!' said God, and there was light.
'Let there be blood!' says man, and there's a sea!"

For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt.
