    So is a spoon then....

How much time does it take to kill someone with a stapler....?

Remember, to understand how the cops were thinking, imagine the worst case. You don't taze. There are four of you. You are wearing body armor. He has a stapler. Will you win? Almost certianly. Could you still get seriously injured? Hell yes. If a staple in the finger hurts, try to think of a swinging stapler stricking and ejecting a staple into your eye. The point is that if you taze, you avoid serious injury.
So THAT was Lumberg's mistake! He shoulda TASED Milton, and everything would've been fine.

It seems that the police (you) have come to see the TASER as something one can use pretty much at will in any situation, to avoid even the slightest possibility of injury. It's like, safe and stuff, so zap first and ask questions later...

You should have made a Pulp Fiction reference, Arrian.

Actually, I'm not defending the entire incident. I am defending the initial tazing. Any subsequent tazing may have been uncalled for.

I purposely stapled myself once, when I was 5 I think. In my left thumb. I wised up after that.

That's correct. I don't like references that I, apparently, completely miss. It probably doesn't help that I haven't seen those movies.

Then you're just skimming. The Tazer is NOT my first option. 99 times out of 100 I get voluntary compliance by just talking with the guy. Sometimes I have to draw the Tazer to get them to comply. Sometimes (if there is time) a spark test does the trick. Only rarely do I actually fire the thing (and although most of you guys refuse to believe it, its the same for almost all cops).

You might be a little peaved too being stuck in an airport for 10 hours.

If that's the case, how was the initial tazering of this guy acceptable?

Yes, "May". To think that we have all the information about this incident from one poor quality video and a news article is ridiculous.
