Heh. When I read this yesterday, I was tempted to respond with something similar.

My last girlfriend did this a lot because she thought I was always too quiet and nonconfrontational, and if I were angry and yelling at her, at least I'd be talking. I never stood for it.

One of the things I learned about arguing is that it is very important to, in the middle of a heated argument, step back and consider whether or not what you're discussing is actually relevant to anything.

I always tried to make sure that we actually resolved the issue that had gotten us into an argument in the first place, rather than letting the argument expand to include everything we hated about each other and my bestfriend.

Piss you off is one thing, but it's a natural part of the mating ritual to determine your proper boundaries in relation to each other - and part of that is pushing against them to see where they are.
