The last girl was from Brisbane (and there is also a psycho girl from Brisbane who is stalking me), and before that it was a girl from Sydney, so the west coast is certainly a different tack.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Oh...wait, maybe pot smoker is that dumb.

Berz: The sarcasm has nothing to do with celebration by anti-war side of bad (or good) things over there. The sarcasm has to do with the media only PARTRAYING the bad stuff. Now go back to your Cheech and Chonging.
If it bleeds it leads aint nothing new, but Dino just posted good news from the media that only portrays the bad stuff. And Cheech doesn't smoke

actually I see very little reporting on the violence in Iraq...cuz its too violent for reporters We get daily updates on US deaths which come from the Pentagon and whatever the Iraqis or the Pentagon says about Iraqi deaths, but the violence over there is way under reported and good news is fleeting and rare. If Dino expects "balance" from a quagmire he's expecting a picture of reality as far off base or more than the left wing media is accused of painting.

Maybe Bush will try for a quadruple jump and bomb Iran just as the surge is coming to an end, just to show how successful it was, allowing us to divert our attention to a third war.

It would sort of connect the dots. Takes care of those issues with Afghanistan being landlocked. And eliminates the Iraq influenced by Iran kerfuffle. Plus John Kerry said in 04, that Bush invaded the wrong I-country, so evidently he favors doing it.

Of course, I think it would be incredibly ****ed up. But that's just me.

I think you represent the mainstream military view. I bet you have no use for Petraeus. Inasmuch as he is successful, the military will sink into the sand of Iraq to stay.

For my own part, I doubt that the "surge" had any big effect. It was just something to make clear PR-wise that a change in strategy and tactics was happening.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891
