Heresson, I confirm the Turkey thing, they do it English only. The reason they'd switch to Turkey is if you are a foreigner and want to learn their language.

So if that's an issue, Turkey is not for you.

          I'd choose France.

You should go to Norway and work as a handyman, as all Polish in Norway these days.

                  Bump

I did nothing, until the deadline was close. I applied the last day, for:
                  Paris (for reasons already mentioned)
Venice (because they have arabic and byzantine studies there)
Versailles (because it's close to Paris)
                  Montpellier (I don't know why )
Now, there are a couple of problems:
                  1) They may ask me some questions in french, while my french is bad...
                  2) The guy who will ask me in french is a very gloomy, dark, sinister person. Additionally, I accidentally ended up having dinner with him a couple of days ago (because I went with my friend, and it turned out he was invited as well. I wouldn't go if I knew he was going.
I was very nervous, and acted as a fool.
For example, he kept talking about Telesfor, a tv show he watched in his childhood. And when my friend said his grandmas love this guy, I couldn't stop myself saying that perhaps it's because they watched telesfor as well
It seemed an innocent joke, because he didn't seem more than 4-5 years older than me, but he's much older, and it seems that he is very much concerned about his age.
He said that one day he'll have his revenge, and this day will come soon
                  In another words: I'm doomed.
On the other hand, the guy under whose supervision I'm writing my master's thesis at history is in this comission as well... So I guess while mister No-One-Speaks-French-Better-Than-Me will try to destroy me, the other professeur will try to save me.

I've prepared for myself short speaches why I wanna go to Paris or Venice in french, but if he asks me about history of these universities, or which are the lessons I want to attend in Paris, I will be doomed. I know which lessons I'd like to attend in Venice, though.
Fortunatelly, I speak slowly, and they only have 10 minutes

I wouldn't be scared if the results wouldn't be shown for everyone to see, and if the guys in the comission wouldn't be a friend of my friend and the guy who supervises my master's thesis.

Why not - the rest of Poland seems to be there at the moment. Christ knows why, it's probably poorer than Poland

Well, it's over. I actually made it to teh prestigeous EHESS in Paris . They made me speak french, cruel ones . It wasn't very good, but it wasn't very bad. I didn't say much of the things I wanted. I thought I'm going to end up in Versailles or Venice, but it's Paris. I am getting scared now. EHESS is such a good school, and me... uh... And I need to start learning french again... really hard. Uh. And then I'm going to live in a giant, scary, expensive city, learning in a language I'm no good at, with people probably 20x more clever than me... Uh, uh, uh.
But when I'm back, I'll be able to boast I studied there.
Yet, I feel a bit guilty, because I don't really deserve to study there.
