  • I can't believe what absolute and utter geeks you people are.

I mean really. You have gone on now for over one hundred posts about a hypothetical situation from a rather crappy TV genre. You must all be pretty pathetic people.

I voted for holodeck. For me it was an easy choice.

    • I'd take the ship, load it with food, babes and a company of Marines in red fatigues and off we go!
      What?

        • Well in the case of the space ship, you die, in the case of the holodeck you realise, you have less of a life that WoW freaks...

Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

            • So the holodeck seems to be de facto more than just illusions, maybe some kind of huge replicator.
I thought this was common knowledge. I've always believed it to be this way. It's not like when they punch someone it goes through thin air. And sex with thin air wouldn't be that great (I know this from first hand experience- jk). It is real matter. It's just the computer has so much control over the matter it can prevent it those simulated people from killing.

                • question: could you use a holodeck to create multiple holodecks inside? This came to me with the discussion about renting it out. You couldn't make a lot of money renting it out as you'd want some time to use it yourself. And how much would people pay for a upscale brothel? Not that much.

So I'd use the holodeck to create more holodecks within the main holodeck (there appears to be no size limitation). And then just open an amuzement park/brothel (make sure to program it to self clean)

                          • Maybe she refers to parallel universes.

Just like in the episodes with the "evil federation",
You might imagine our universe as a third universe (aside from evil and good federation) that contains a mankind with almost he same history as in Star Trek, but not all of the other alien Star Trek races (or maybe completely different ones)

And Picard, instead of stepping into the universe of the evil federation stepas into our universe (thereby making a universe- as well as a time-jump)

Let teh poor people get thier own holodeck. If I'm running a brothel, I'm going to make money at it and not run it as a charity.
