The Iranians have been saying ranting against Israel since 1980. Didn't stop Israel and teh Reagan from selling them weapons....

The Us and the West keep moving the goal post, and iin the end they will lose because of it.

Its one thing to demand that Iran follow the rules as laid out by the NPT with regards to full disclosure of nuclar activities. Every member of the NPT has a right to demand that Iran follow those rules and be fully transparent with their nuclear activities, which they have not been.

the problem is that the US and Western Europe now want to make it so they have an enrichment monopoly, which the Third World is never going to support long term - why should they limit their own ability to enrich Uranium?

What if the Iranians come clean to the IAEA (not that I expect that to really happen, but the Iranians seem to behave more rationally than this admin)? What happens then? Cause if they do, then they can happily move towards enrichment, yet enrichment seems to have been equated to having nukes in the current Bush dislexicon.

Bush a dictator? He was elected president by a loving electorate! Fella named Chad iirc. Still, mere sensationalism. Bush is the president of a democracy.

Given his record with pretzels and the like, I think the Secret Service would dictate that aspect of his life now - for safety reasons.

That comment, made during a 45-minute news conference, came as reporters probed for the president's reaction to a warning Tuesday by President Vladimir Putin of Russia against any military strikes on Iran to halt the nuclear work it has continued in defiance of much of the world. Iran says the program is purely peaceful.

"If Iran had a nuclear weapon, it'd be a dangerous threat to world peace," Bush said. "So I told people that if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested"
Given the context, this is a disastrous and an idiotic comment, a major diplomatic blunder which'll be understood as a threat of naked aggression. Saying that if Russia doesn't do what Bush wants it to do, World War III could happen is not a smart thing to say, no matter what the motive. Say goodbye to decent relations with Russia, and good relations with any country in the world.

                          yep

Bush could rape 40 babies with Osama Bin Laden in live TV, shoot his wife and go on a drunken rampage in downtown DC while sniffing crack, declaring himself dictator-for-life and demoliting Brisbane and London with nuclear weapons. The only people who still think he's a fine President are the same lumpenproletariat troglodytes who define their political opinion depending on what Bush is. They just deny reality when confronted by unpleasant facts. They are unaffected, no matter what happens.
