Nowhere is it written that zombie populations are homogenious!

Why can't they be slow and fast?

Actually I think people should stop the discrimination against zombies. You only hear negative stuff about them that they eat people and all. That can't be right.

I bet it's just because zombies have no lobby.

Since I live in Texas, I would probably wake up to find lifeless zombie bodies already riddled with bullet holes.

Drive to Andrews AFB. Failing that, drive west on 66.

I'd do this by the book.

            THE book.

"Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks.

Let's see....Brighton&Hove is a densely populated sea-side city surrounded by gently rolling Sussex countryside. We're extremely close to areas likely to have major outbreaks including Greater London. The closest thing the city has to a port is the Marina, not exactly packed with ocean going vessels. The English Channel is likely to be packed with fleeing ships from the Continent and the UK anyway.

The typical Brighton house is no good to hold up in. They're tall, narrow and have large downstairs windows. It would be too difficult to adequately defend them.

There area few good points. Though only relatively recently built up (ie, only a couple centuries ago), the city does possess a centrally located church that's large enough to store supplies in and with nice thick stone walls. The Royal Pavilion and surrounding gardens could be made defendable and even sustainable if necessary. There are several tall towerblocks where if you secure the lower floors, the upper ones are safe. And of course the Pier, where if you destroy the connection to beach you're more or less on a secure sea platform. Does mean surviving off chips tho.

From where I live in Brighton though, it would mean battling into the city centre. I currently have....some free weights that I could make into a mace or club. Not the most elegant weapon and tiring to use. Also, the main areas of the Lanes (narrow tight streets) and Churchill Square (underground shopping mall) would be hot death traps.

                      Most likely...I get eaten.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

How are you going to have time to read it and prepare once the zombies start scratching at your door and windows?
