We won trade ruling after trade ruling against the US in our recent lumber dispute and at the end of the day we still walked away after getting screwed.

The US will do what the US wants to do. As always.

I wear cotton clothes. That shouldn't meant that I believe in subsidizing something that takes up scarce resources and makes our air worse.

Yeah, and Texas doesn't even do what the U.S. wants us to do, so how cool does that make us? Yeah.

When they harvest it the fibers get airbourne and cause problems with people with alergies. Then there's the pesticides.

Yes but the US government already beat you down once. We've yet to lose.

We had all those other states getting in our way.
                It wasn't really fair.

No doubt some plant fibers get airborne but is that really any worse for people with allergies then just leaving it a natural field full of all sorts of different grasses, flowers, and fungi? I think allergies are the least of our concern.

Forget about the foundries and vehicles, let's worry about cotton.

For once I completely agree with our slow handed friend from Texas. Cotton is the least of our pollution concerns.

Meh. The US will get around it somehow. They always do.

The US is hardly the only one getting around rulings. The EU and China both have fairly impressive records on that topic.

The US will continue to challenge through appeal. If they near the end of the appeals process they will modify their farm subsidy program just enough to be able to go back to the WTO and say "That program is gone now." Meanwhile of course complaints and challenges against the "new" program will have to start at the beginning of the process...

The US shouldn't be part of the WTO.

The raeson there is a need for the WTO and for it to have teeth is because, the US, the EU and China will try and get round the rules
