You don't think that he has enough recognition to be competative in the primaries? It's not like he's Richardson or Edwards struggling to be taken seriously as major candidates. Gore is well known and seemingly much admired by Dems. I'd think that his appeal would make up for his late entry. It seems to me that many Dems are less than enthusiastic about Hillary and Obama. Why couldn't someone of Gore's stature within the party step in and steal the show?

If Gore would happen to win the primaries, then his money issues would disappear.

Gore easily has the recognition to win. He could have won in 2004 had he ran, well maybe. I think the point above is it's too late for him to run now. All support is in the Obama and Hilary camp.

I'm rooting for Obama myself. But he really doesn't have a chance in hell.

My confusion lies in the finality of that statement. Why is their support set in stone? If Gore entered the race, I'd think that many people who currently support Obama or Clinton would sitch their alliegances to Gore.

maybe. Had he did it 3 or 4 weeks ago I'd definately say yes. Now, I'm not so sure.

Poular support, maybe. But organization is a different matter. Those folks are career political hacks, and it would be career suicide for them to abandon a candidate to whom they've already committed. Money wowuld also be a problem, as would endorsements; both are already committed.

For some reason -- maybe the word "race"-- an analogy to NASCAR or Formula One springs to mind. Gore may have the most promising vehicle, but without sponsorship and a decent pit crew, the vehicle doesn't matter much.

Nope, Obama... But maybe Richardson, he recently said he'd pull out of Iraq COMPLETELY within several months in office while Obama looks like he's shied away from making such declarative statements because of what he said about attacking inside of Pakistan. I like that Obama even if that aint plausible. Now he's sounding like Hillary... and the neocons... We'll be there long enough to rebuild and attack Iran because we aint leaving if Hillary or Rudy wins.

Ron Paul is actually pulling in more money than McCain is. The man is a Libertarian as far as I can tell and although he stands with the rest of the country on Iraq (as in get us OUT of there), all his other positions are just Libertarian wet dreams.

Yeah, but making Congress over ride all his vetoes of pork laden spending bills would be fun watching, we'd get to see there really is no difference between the parties. Just a bunch of social issues while they loot the treasury. He'd be a check on them and they'd be a check on him. The most important issue is foreign policy, and it will be for future generations if we dont figure out our continued presence is the catalyst for this war. He figured that out...
