Strangely, IMDB doesn't list it as such, but it should be.

Frank Hackett: Well, the issue is: Shall we kill Howard Beale, or not? I'd like to get some more opinions on that.

      -----

Frank Hackett: Mr. Jensen is unhappy with Howard Beale and wants him discontinued.
Diana Christensen: He may be unhappy, but he isn't stupid enough to withdraw the number one show on television out of pique.
Frank Hackett: Two billion dollars is not pique! That's the Wrath of God! And the Wrath of God wants Howard Beale fired.

      Duvall was great.

      • I think we've got to go for side the splitting craziness of "Brain Donors" or "Planes Trains and Automobiles" (my rather sedate brother in law almost had a baby during the steering with knees scene) over the intellectual brilliance of "Life of Brian" or "Sleeper".

        • One movie that I always get a big laugh out of that I'm not sure if it's supposed to funny or not, is Vertigo.

The final scene at the bell tower always makes me laugh out loud.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

                • The Graduate has always been considered a comedy, IIRC. Though not a laughs-a-minute one.

                        • here's a question? when did comedies stop being funny?

so I'm watching National Lampoons barely legal. What is this crap? How is sex funny? you can't just throw a bunch of sex into a film and expect it to be funny? For the same reason, I never found Porky's very funny (especially the violence in it). Porky's is very overrated.

The chick in barely legal is pretty hot though. I need to look her up. I'm talking about the star of the porn film- the one in the student uniform.

But cable is still playing 40 year old virgin and wedding crashers. Both very funny movies. Wedding crashers bothered me at first because I found the main characters despicable, but I just dig the crazy horny girl.

                          • National Lampoon was never funny (anything with Chevy Chase is by definition NOT funny).

Porkies was very good when it came out but the movie hasn't "stood up" with time.

40YOV and WC. "Knocked Up" should be similar (Josh Rogan) but I haven't seen it yet.

                            • yeah I want to check out knocked up. But the buddies in the buddy scene don't look as good as the buddies in 40 year old virgin.

And national lampoons with chevy chase are the only national lampoons I like . Griswold's rock Vegas Vacation was only so-so though. But the national lampoons name has really went downhill since then.
