Butcher's Hook and Clever next to Smithfields market and a short walk from Farringdon tube station is much better. In fact there are quite a few pubs and bars by Farringdon station that would be suitable.

I would imagine most of those who could turn up would not be able to do so much before 6pm. DrSpike would be able to make it at as soon as the afternoon starts no doubt - government laxitudes on 'work' hours and all that.
