  • Anyway, I've tried to find an article that I skimmed earlier that said that new products are often sold with a right to return, and I've failed. I don't have 14 dollars to pay for the article in The Journal of Law and Economics, but if I did I could pwn.

How convenient. Since you did not, you were "pwned". Black and whites, right?

          No. Wait!

No, seriously, I saw it earlier. In reality, I'm right. In this thread things may be a little grey.

            • Meanwhile...while Apple gouges its loyal customers, MS is offering the top-end version of Office 2007 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Publisher, OneNote, Groove, and Infopath) for $59.95 to university and college students...no strings attached. Offer is valid in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Spain, Italy, and France.

Shop the latest Microsoft Store online sales and deals at a great price! Get more of what you want for less with discounts on Surface, laptops, computers, PCs, Xbox, Gaming, software, and more.

Apple charges $71 USD (with the educational discount) for iWork 08, which of course is in no way comparable to Office '07...

              • Idiots. They should sell it at that price in the third-world to stamp out piracy.

                  • I've played with iWork '08....$79 is a ripoff.

                              • They rewarded me with a new work laptop. It's baffling because the only purpose it serves is Google Talk + Apolyton. I've got my triple-monitor PC for work (which is on the client's network). The laptop is on our own, unfilted network...

Of course, it's a bit excessive. ThinkPad T60p: 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 15.4" 1400x1050 widescreen, ATi FireGL v5250, 4GB DDR667... have to say, I'm impressed with Lenovo. The keys are clackier, but it's still a ThinkPad. Feels like it's built like a tank, my MacBook Pro feels fragile in comparison. I've also had 100% accuracy with the new fingerprint scanner. Much easier than logging in the oldway...

Then again, this unit retails for twice the price as my MBP.
