Conservative in Judaism does not have political conotations - there are lots of Conservative Jews for Obama, Im sure. It is not derogatory in religious connotations, except perhaps if an ultra-orthodox jew were to call a modern Orthodox Jew "conservative" as that would indicate the MO had gone so far to the left theyd abandonded Orthodoxy.Originally posted by Asher
