    I'm predictable.

I knew you were coming before I typed my first letter. You, my friend, are a cliche, a tired lame cliche.

Because that is all the OTF is pretty much these days? So they are already in their own forum.

        • Not enough action to justify a babe forum (only a single thread allowed) or a joke forum. The OTF really started with politics being the primary topic... so no need to create a sub forum for that.

Sports was a different story. And by the amount of increased sports posting, it is working. While the other new sub forums are not showing the same type of activity, and may eventually be moved back into the OTF, the sports forum has established its own identity now... and has made it easier for all those that want to follow sports to do so. Granted a few people don't seem to like the fact that they have to click on a seperate forum to do so... it appears most like it and are using it.

          • My two cents.

I disagreed with splitting it originally but figured I'd wait and see. (waiting to say I TOLD YOU SO)

But after some time, I have decided that I much prefer it seperate. Sports threads used to drop too fast off the first page. Now they're all convienently all in one place. I actually post more there then I used to. I'm not even in many of the games and it's easy to tell those threads so I can avoid opening them.

Easier to click one link, then checking multiple pages in the ot.

And there can't be discussion on topics if someone doesn't start it. The current setup is much more poster friendly since it won't dissappear so quickly. And if people don't respond, I guess the topic was too boring.

My only objection is that some new posters may not be aware that it's there. (agreed you have to be pretty dense not to notice it at the top of the page, but what the heck)
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

            • What is kind of amusing to me good folks, is all the attention this thread has caused.

Im not Staff anymore, by mine own choosing thank you, but am trying to help one and all see that the Staff/Admin/Ownership have only split into some subforums, leaving all the OT to other subjects.

Both sides can get heated, heck, I try to be civil but several can attest, I too can get down and dirty when called up to

But for real good folks, why not start some threads up, post away. I see no mass pruning of new threads, of course, once in a while it seems the bottle gets passed between some posters and drunk threads come up.

Or the lunch wagon with Spam makes its rounds, other than thats, please post away!

Dang, Im sorry that we all cant just get along, I really wish people could see no harm is being imposed by the wills of those who old positions of authority.

Unless I am saddly mistaken, more creativity by the masses could indeed re-invigorate our community.

              • I don't really understand why people seem to care so much about the forum structure... seems like style > substance to me.

I didn't really care about the creation of the sports & history subforums - I'd say I was mildly against, because it seemed like change for the sake of change.

I've adjusted. I will say it makes finding the MLB thread easier, which is nice. I'm fine either way.

Yes, there was me. Basically Imran said what I would have said and I agreed with him.

The Sports Forum is great. First, I can easily find the sports threads I want (football, cricket, tennis, F1), and second, the OT doesn't have to have a rugby thread in it permenantly that two or three people only use, or whole handfulls of draft/Fantasy league threads.

If the OT is down in action, it has nothing to do with sub-forums, and nothing you have said (repeatedly) persuades me that the Sports Forum is a bad thing.

There's a US Open tennis thread on the go, btw. I look forward to your contribution.

                  Long live the Sports Forum.

I'll even start a Nicholas Bentdner thread for you personally if you like when he next starts for Denmark and/or Arsenal.

                    • We could have a petition to see just how many people would like to see a unified OT restored, as opposed to the ones who like the current fragmented mess that is crumbling away as we speak.

Not that it would make any difference, of course.
