Perhaps you may look into this behavior. Claiming others are being uncivil while speaking to them in a such a fashion. Maybe it's part of the reason no one likes you.

It didn't before... the amount of sports discussion had fallen of considerably as it was LOST in the OTF.

The same downside as before, the threads getting lost.
And frankly, I don't see any of the real benefits that you claim. Your say people should highlight threads or book mark them.... We say, go to the sports forum... both are as easy so there is NO DIFFERENCE between the two. And a sports forum makes it easier to find the thread in the first place since you don't have to view through caveman toenail threads.

What is keeping you from doing what so many people ask?

Far more people are particiapting and enjoying the current sports forum than the limited number of people that don't seem to like it because they can't take the time simply check out another forum to find sports.

Why should the majority suffer because of a few people who don't like it?

Is it fear of the implicit admission on your part that a less-than-optimal decision was made that had to be corrected?

Actually... it was an optimal decision, since it seems to have worked and reenergized sports posting... something that was dying away lost in the OTF.

Fantasy gamers, for whom the separation was apparently performed, amazingly as it seems, could have their threads distinctly marked for identification to facilitate easy retrieval, since that appears to be of some concern, however strange that sounds to an outsider.

And some people could just check another forum... it's that simple.

I don't get it. Is it just plain stubbornness that you refuse to change things back, even when they're obviously not working to the satisfaction of most posters?

But it is working... you seem to be one of the FEW that don't think it is... but sports posting is up. Again, that simple fact that you don't seem to think is very important... but is important to all the other sports fans.

There have always been a hard core group of sports posters... and the current OTF was NOT serving their interest.

Moving it back to the OTF because a few outspoken people can't see that would be a big mistake.

May I also add, that 've been browsing the Rugby thread (which is very active) and there are at least three posters on their: Havak, finbar, and LDiCesare, who aren't necessarily active in the Off Topic. They have found they can discuss rugby without having to dig down into the Off Topic to find the thread.

When it was all integrated, I don't remember a rugby thread getting that much participation (though one did exist, normally bumped by Caligasta).

Ming, while I appreciate the effort you put into replying to that post I made to Locutus, I'm afraid it's rather a waste since there is nothing more to debate on this subject. I would have thought that much was quite clear by now, not least by way of the unwavering position you've taken since the start, true to your form. So why keep repeating the same record over and over again, hm? But I hope it made you feel a little better. That and the success, don't forget that.

I can understand that from your perspective... All of the logic and facts are against your POV... You are right, there is no real debate on this issue. The simple facts speak for themselves.
And unfortunately, your POV is on the wrong side of reality. But if you wish to continue thinking you are right, feel free... it is your OPINION. I will continue to look at the facts and be happy that we made a good decision.
