    All cultures have accepted forms of violence against women. FGM is truly a disgusting form of it, but in India, dowry murders and widow murders are still horrifyingly common. In the U.S., the number one cause of death among pregnant women is murder, by the man who got them pregnant.

    One needs only look at the different treatments of Michael Vick and Kobe Bryant to see that Americans value their dogs more than their women.
    Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

      Generally murdering pregant women isn't considered acceptable here and a pregnant women fighting ring would be just as harshly shut down.

            Isn't the last just a wee bit of hyberbole? I admit I didn't follow either case, but it sounded like there was a lot more evidence against Vick than against Kobe.
