    Yes, it can.

People who started out pro-war, are now anti-war, but still want the troops to stay to prevent civil war.

Hrm. Ok, yeah, that's possible too.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

I think a lot of what you consider group 1 actually believe we can start to pull out and accomplish a withdrawal in a very few months.

I don't care about much more than individual security for our forces and denying any potentially useful materiel to our enemies. I don't see a withdrawal meeting just those requirements occuring in less than a year, if that was the absolute course we chose today.

An Iraqi sacrifices his own life to save the lives of U.S. Troops.

As a journalist, I'd say this is a nice fairy tale, but it lacks the element of truth.

The attacker had a vest full of explosives, yet the story claims that one person saw the attacker, stood up and ran toward him and then use his body to shield the blast. And no one else got hurt. Yeah, right.

And if this did happen, and it is not likely that it did, we're supposed to know for a fact that the guy was trying to save American soldiers, as oppose to just saving his friends or family at the meeting.

Every day, journalists get told stories, many of them are not true. This seems to be one of those cases.

Classic. You jump to conclusions without knowing the facts.

The reality is that I spend my work days trying to ensure that articles provide different sides of the story, which of course means that people who only want their side of the story told, hate the work I do.

But when the Conservatives, the Liberals and the Socialists are *****ing about an article, that typically means I'm doing a good job.

The downside is I have to ensure that the idiots have their say in the name of being fair and balanced. I take some solace in the belief that most of my readers are intelligent enough to see through the BS.

But allowing the idiots to voice their opinion is still annoying so at the end of the day, I'll come here to vent my frustrations.

oh, and by the by, it is you're, not your.

Do you work for a specific paper and edit their own articles or do you take articles from other papers and "correct" them?

                            • Even your responses are unoriginal. Is your job to make articles dryer? I hope you can understand this.
