My role is poorly characterised and not substantial enough. I doubt I'm that helpful and there aren't enough references to how great, fantastic and modest I am.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
    -Richard Dawkins

      Especially the modest part

I don't think I researched anyone's character in great depth, Starchild... not even my own.

That was about Aq's days as a bad boy frat rat, right?
Well, his hero was Aristotle, who was a bugger for the bottle.

I'm not going to quote Hardman, but ... I haven't thought about that in years!

Other parts that made me (in no particular order):

Dracon - "Oops. Double post. Sorry"
Kunal - "Imran, stop trying to look like Pravin Lal."
Sergeant Sheets - "Not so fast. We have written authorization from Internic...
              {Did I mention that DanQ was killed in the battle? Oops… sorry I didn’t. Well he was.}
Dracon - "This is a gross violation of the Civilization Decency Act, I can tell you that."
              My favourite:

DanQ - "That bastard! Why didn't I just stick with The Ultimate Civilization site? The Emperor was a far better nick than DanQ anyway…"

I believe you did post this at some point, Dracon, at least parts of it for some of it does seem familiar. It touches upon so many quirks of Apolyton's early days, and that of the Civ online community at the time, both directly and indirectly. As could be gleamed from my quotes above, I preferred the first two parts (and the start of the third).

Yeah.... it kinda peaked around there... the fourth part was probably best left incomplete. It seems to get a bit self-indulgent there... what with all that stuff about me and the Mod Asylum. I seem to get infected by a Monty Python bug as well which gets progressively worse as my writing continues.

This is amazing! My role in all this was as a secret agent of Gamestats Gestapo!

                  I LOVE IT!!

                  Awesome stuff Dracon!!

You know you should do two new instalments

                    CivWars 5: CFC strikes back

                    and

                    *That's me.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila

Once again, I'm relegated to that background character in the cantina seen for just two frames of a single scene.

Oh, the life of an Extra.

Hey Imran! Yeah, I guess I had an account.. and I thought I had an older account, but couldn't find it in the member list. I had to log in to an ancient Yahoo account to retrieve and reset my password.

This one is from 2002 so post-shuttering SG. I was trying to reconstruct a timeline of events and found this thread. As Dracon noted:
