I'm one of them, myself. Fortunately I was home when the 35W bridge collapsed.

My bus usually takes 35W at the exact time this happened, but it was rerouted to Stinson a few weeks ago to avoid the construction.

Still doesn't stop everyone from making the stupid "omfg are you ok???" calls...

On the news it says the bridge handles 200,000 cars a day. Trafic will suck.

That whole damn road's already been bumper-to-bumper since they started the resurfacing a few months ago. Most drivers have learned to avoid it like the plague, so losing the bridge should't change much traffic-wise.

However, they did have to cancel tomorrow's Twins game...

This is just F-ing awful. Poor maintainance I'm assuming. My republican governor needs to be reminded of this every time he vetoes a spending bill.

Kuci, it was not a suspension bridge, so no tacoma narrows issue The early views that i've heard are construction that was going on at the time.
