I actually remember (*partially*) spamming my way through the last dozen posts to the old 500 requirement for a custom avatar. Then realizing that I LIKED the SMAC Engineer avatar.
So I just spiffed it up a bit. I've had the latest variant for about 4 months (it has a golden glow on the faceplate, I think I was using a santa hat engineer with a blue glow before that..)

Just like an Engineer, only a Great Engineer.

My avatar is the character Kami from the Japanese anime Dragon Ball Z

from Wiki:

Kami (神, Kami?) known respectfully in Japanese as Kami-sama as a title meaning "God". Kami was the good half of the Namekian that came to be the God of Earth, with his evil half becoming the Piccolo Daimao. In the anime, he competed with Garlic for the position and won. 300 years later, Garlic's son Garlic Jr., bearing a perpetual grudge, attempted twice to fight for the title and lost. He then watched over the planet for centuries to ensure its safety.

Seeing the spawn of his other half Piccolo threatening the planet, he goes to Earth in secret and competes in the Tenka-ichi Budōkai by possessing a human. After advancing to the semifinals he battles Piccolo, trying to trap him in a bottle using the Mafūba. Piccolo is able to overcome it by reversing the attack, trapping Kami in the bottle himself. He then swallows the bottle for safe keeping before losing Kami in his match with Son Goku. During the Android Saga, Kami agreed to merge and rejoin Piccolo so they would be a match for the androids.

The Dragon Balls were originally created by the Namekians. Kami made the Earth Dragon Balls balls after he traveled to Earth from his home planet called Namek. The Dragon Balls are directly connected to Kami's life force, so when Kami dies or his individual life force becomes absorbed into something, the Dragon Balls turn to stone, permenantely, unless the balls are revived by another Namekian.

Kami is a bad-ass playa, and AAHZ is a bad ass playa. Kami is also old and so is AAHZ. We just go together so well...

Anyways! My avatar is simply the national emblem of the Republic of China. I took it in protest when said nation was unjustly removed from Apolyton's list of flags, and didn't change back (my previous avatar sucked anyway).
