    I hate my nation...

    If anyone wants to read about how utterly stupid the icelandic goverment + nation. Then take a look at these articles, by the Guardian and the Ecologist.

    Its pretty long but about some truly shocking stuff...

              Summary:

              Icelandic goverment pushes through plans to build Kárahnjúka dam, costing more than 1 bn dollars. This is to power Alcoas new aluminium smelter. Although the population is split on the matter, its about 50-50 with/against.

              The dam will drown unique enviroment and natural wonders (the icelandic "Grand canyon" for instance).

              This is a very short summary but thats basicly what it is about..

              In the shortest way possible its a concious decision of ****ting in the swimming pool.

                              the polish dudes who are being employed to build the dam probably hate it too. As they are underfed, underpaid living in the mountains building a dam.

                              They had the fifth fatal accident in the building of it yesterday. 5 deaths in 4 years building the damn thing
