Well, it's over now. It went OK. It wasn't great though. We got along pretty well, but they were kind of concerned about my thesis and how fast it could progress, or the lack of progress. That is, they want me to graduate before September, easier said than done though. But other than that, it went OK, we spent.. what.. almost 4 hours talking or so.

Now I'm just painfully waiting for my planes to arrive, it'll still be hours so I'm pretty damn tired and just want to go home.

They said they'll let me know THIS week. And since midsummers day is this week, it means I should know about it by Thursday. I'm excited but a bit disappointed, I should have been great and not just OK. Oh well, we'll see.

What they see and what you think you project are generally two different things entirely. You can only hope that what you project is was in the direction you wanted them to see, and what they saw was better than you hoped.

when i recently had MY interviwew i thought i was extremely generic. i thought i bombed it. i was worried for days... turns out i ACED it and i am a very highly prized commodity there. i am being trained for several different departments at once, actually.

...point is fear is a killer. FEAR and tension. nervousness... can you smell it Pekka? thats the paranoia. mmm, yup its an old buddy of mine. but like all good friends, Pekka, sometimes you hafta give it a good swift kick in the ass.

Japher, I know. But the problem is, we have one big question to solve and I need to solve it TOMORROW and send them message and hopefully affect their decision. They liked me and all, but there is a problem with the studies now, I'm definitely not projected to graduate in september, yet that's what they want. It's easy to say, well do it... I mean I will if it is possible, I hope I can negotiate about it tomorrow with my guide, I HOPE he isn't in his summer vacation already. I figure if we can come to the conclusion that it is possible and we pull multiple strings at the same time (see, school is over, it's summer), persuade few professors to grade me this summer for courses they never gave me (but take the test of course) etc... then MAYBE. But if not? I don't think I'll make it. Tomorrow will be a big day, since then I can tell them this is the plan, it works in theory so it will work and hopefully they will give their thumbs up for me.

It sounded like a dream project though...

I mean they were dropping INSANE spots I could spend a year or two with this project, just insane. It was like 'would you be willing to go to...' as in if it would be a problem. NO! It's not a problem! That's a dream, man! Hong Kong etc. just insane places I dream of. Also US, of course, in a very, very top rated school.

Pekka needs to get his lower degree done in order to take this position in order to research for his higher degree.

Seeing as Pekka expressed that his desired field is electronic secerity and that he also is all into the imposter type crimes were he pretends to be someone in order to get what he wants I assume the position is along that lines. Which, fits with what they all call 'Pretexting', and that is what Pekka is probably looking into.

Isn't another word for this "social engineering"? Mitnick used it, and it's a very fascinating area even if you're not interested in computer science at all. I hope you get the poisition, Pekka.
