You can have a pouch of change, but if you don't have 4 pennies, 2 dimes, and a nickel included, you're still screwed.

I have been mugged to many times i dont carry cash on me at all now days. i just use my check card it is accpeted everywhere, and i dont give a dam if the person behind me gets pissed off. I have lost to much money to give a **** what anyone thinks!!

I use debit/credit almost exclusively.
Not only is it very convenient, but I can import my statements automagically into Quicken...combined with pre-built categorical rules and such, it's an interactive, realtime budget.
