I disagree completely. I reckon Romney, Obama, Hilary are way smarter. I mean, Harvard law degrees, founded multi-million dollar companies, etc. I mean lookn at Romney: graduated summa *** laude, JD/MBA scholar, 3 years after he left law school he was a Vice President at Bain, founded a private equity firm that made ridiculously huge profits, was floated back in as CEO of Bain and turned it around in under a year, saved the Salt Lake City games (financially), then become governor. That's a huge amount of success. It takes an awful lot of intelligence to found a private equity firm and be successful, the people who do this type of thing are ridiculously smart (not to associate intelligence with money-making-ability, but lots of very clever people are drawn to it).

Obama was president of Harvard Law Review, graduated magna *** laude and lectured at Chicago law school.

There's a lot of very smart people in this race. I don't see why Ron Paul even qualifies as one of the most intelligent. Sure, he's more principled, he stands by what he means, but why does that mean he's intelligent? Clearly he's pretty smart, but clearly most of the people involved are pretty smart. You don't usually get to this stage in a profession like politics without being pretty smart.

You forgot to mention what makes Hilary smart...

Meh, I got bored. Look on Wiki. Though from what I remember, she did remarkably well at college and law school and did some rather impressive international work as first lady.

Actually D is on the money. It is one of the hopes I have for the latest field of 2008 candidates as opposed to the dreck of years past.

I look at the top contenders in the field and see

          on the Dem side:

(In order of chance to gain nomination):

Hillary - No one can reasonably claim the woman is stooopid
          Obama -What Drogue said
Edwards - By far the weakest intellectually of all three but was a successful trial lawyer

In the wings is Gore - Not bright at all

On the GOP side (in order of liklihood of being the nominee):

Rudy - AS in the case of Hillary, no one can say he is a dim bulb
          Romney - What Drogue said
McCain - least intellectual of the GOP front runners

In the Wings - Fred Thompson - Unknown but does not strike me as a intellectual powerhouse by any stretch of the imagination. On the other hand he surrounds himself with hawwwt women for a man his age.

Seems like that would be worth more than a few IQ pts to me.

well you may be gifted, my son.

134 IQ, 1350 or so SATs, and high achievement test scores in English and history. Then he slacked off in college. And we was stronger in verbal than math/sci. So? doesnt show he wasnt intelligent.

Gore's middlin' at best I reckon, most .... strike that ...a good percentage of polytubbies have him beat.

edit - change from most to good percentage.

POTM was in a Fairfax County Gifted and Talented center, and Id bet most of the kids had IQs less than 134 (of course the kids with the 120-130 IQs werent slacking - that was for the 140 and up kids )

140, youre already getting into profoundly gifted territory, and 160 youre getting into theyre either theyre Einstein or theyre go loony, or both, territory.

Believe me, I hear plenty about this sh*t from QOTM. She really needs to get a degree in it, shes always reading about it.

I dont doubt that we have few under 120 IQ here, and plenty over 140. What would you expect on a site devoted to a historical TBS game?
