Poor Zkribbler was just deceived by the talk radio talking points. There is no doubt about who started and publicized that lie originally though.

I notice you still haven't picked a neutral way of determining the winner of our possible bet, Oerdin.

I've offered a very neutral way and I've even given you odds. I originally offered them to Kuci though he's run away with his tail between his legs so I'll offer you the same. Take it.

I must have mentioned the neutral way to judge you mentioned. Can you quote it for me? I already said I found the odds acceptable.

massive expenditures on something that will benefit a small group of people.

like a 6 billion dollar bridge in alaska.

I don't see it? Do people in the US eat no pork? Does it all get sold abroad or what?

The problem is that one person's treasured local project is another person's wasteful spending. Ear marks did get completely out of hand under the Republicans since they controlled all branches of government thus removing most checks and balances which resulted in massive wasteful spending.

Some pork is good and desirable but the problem is deciding where to draw the line deciding between good spending and wasteful spending. Democrats, in the last election, took the moral high road and promised to eliminate all ear marks from the budget; which they did for this year's budget.

What people like Kuci and DD are trying to say is that having Congressman advocate for local projects it is identical to Congress passing a law mandating such and such project be funded. They are, of course, completely wrong but you know this because their names were attached to the posts.

OK, I'll just use the Pig Book then. I'm apathetic about # of pork projects vs $ spent on pork but leaning slightly toward the $ range since that seems like the easiest to measure. That OK with you?
