so where are all the folks who care about Lebanon?
Ideally, but not really. It's something shared by some, and not others (Syria, Iran), but I'd bet the majority simply don't care.
-Arrian
well shared certainly by the US, France, the rest of the EU, the govts of all the "moderate" arab states. IE everyone who has any interest in Lebanon other than AQ, Syria, Iran.
I dont suppose folks in Shanghai or La Paz or Congo are getting too exercised about events in Lebanon, but that would be normal for any events in the ME, no?
I was merely making the point that this isnt particulary an Israeli interest.

Normally, I'd say MOBIUS would fill that role but there are no dead Jews or Americans for him to masterbate over so you got me.
Convert to Judaism and kill yourself - my arm would probably fall off from the onanistic frenzy that would follow!

So piss off back to masturbating over your maps of "Greater Israel" with your Zionist lackeys, LotM...
These are a bit over the line Mobius. Even as someone who tends to be pretty anti-Israel like me finds that too much. Tone it down a bit, please. Or at least, stop with the sexual references.

Absolutely. Everyone on this forum needs to know that you hero worship the Zionist movement...
Id love to talk about Zionist heroes with you, but that would threadjack away from what this thread is about, which is Lebanon.

I haven't seen anything in the articles I've read that even mentions Hez, including articles. It would seem they're laying low.
As for other groups, from the Lebanon Daily Star:
The commander of Fatah in Lebanon, Brigadier Sultan Abu al-Aynayn, told The Daily Star that camp elders were talking with Fatah al-Islam over sustaining the truce and ending the standoff, but that his group would not. "The PLO and Fatah do not speak to this criminal gang," he said.
I've also seen mentions of Pals from other camps saying they will organize jihadis to fight the army. Whether or not that will result in anything big is unclear.
Jumblatt called on the political opposition, "and Hizbullah in particular," to put an end to its sit-in in Downtown Beirut, "so that thousands of army personnel currently guarding protestors could be freed from such a task in order for them to head North and help their comrades in their fight against terrorism."
In a related development, Jumblatt called Speaker Nabih Berri late on Monday to suggest that Hizbullah "put its weapons and logistics experience in the service of the army in its fight against Fatah al-Islam," the Central News Agency reported.
Berri heads the Amal party, an opposition ally of Hizbullah.

BEIRUT: Interior Minister Ghazi Aridi described the army's actions Sunday in engaging the militant group Fatah al-Islam as a "major and courageous operation to preserve national security." The sentiment was echoed by leaders from both of the country's two main political camps, whose statements for the most part were free of the rancor that has defined political life in recent months.
It would seem that the Lebanese are trying to stick together in this.

Aridi is the guy who said Syria is behind it, a sentiment I doubt Hezb endorses. I guess Aridi has walked back from that statement, then.
